‘Useful People’ are volunteers who form a vital part of the rehabilitation process, bridging the journey from hospital back into the community. Volunteers enhance the work of paid staff by stimulating interest and providing contact with the outside world. Our Useful People work to support all programmes at Burwood Hospital focussing on the recognition of diversity of abilities rather than disability.
