RECREATION

Kiwiable
A programme run by Christchurch City Council to promote sport, recreation, and leisure opportunities for people with disabilities.

is a modern, dynamic organisation that provides facilities and services for the physically disabled people of Canterbury. Based around sport and recreation, Parafed Canterbury offers the very best for it's members and is often seen as New Zealand's leading disability organisation concerning sport and recreation. Based in the Burwood Hospital grounds Parafed Canterbury offers a variety of programmes and services, ranging from a specialised gymnasium to accident prevention programmes in Canterbury schools.

Disabled SnowSports New Zealand
Most people with disabilities can learn to ski or snowboard and DSNZ has a range of adaptive equipment which enables people with a variety of disabilities to ski and snowboard. Most local branches have organised ski and snowboard trips during the season. Alternatively instruction and use of equipment can be accessed directly through local ski areas. Larger ski areas in New Zealand have adaptive equipment and qualified adaptive instructors to help individuals get onto the snow.

Paraquad (Paraplegic and Quadriplegic Association, Australia), provides a wide range of services for disabled consumers. They are specialists in the area of disability and have extensive experience in spinal cord injury, polio as well as other physical disabilities.

HEALTH INFORMATION

Everybody is a New Zealand health information site that aims to provide useful and accurate consumer health information for New Zealanders.

is the creation of women in wheelchairs who were having difficulty finding answers to their health, fashion, and other questions. Their mission is to bring together current and accurate information on issues of interest to women. The site includes a dedicated link to an interactive forum specifically for disabled women which allows participants to ask questions and share information with nurses, knowledgeable people in fields of special interest, and other disabled women.
