This service, while based at the Allan Bean Centre, is provided by the Canterbury District Health Board (CDHB).
The Burwood Assistive Technology Centre is a multidisciplinary team
specialising in the effective application of assistive technology to
assist people with disabilities to achieve positive life-goals. The core
team is comprised of:
- The Client
- An Occupational Therapist
- A Speech-Language Therapist
- A Rehabilitation Engineer
- A Computer Skills Trainer
The client is the central member of the team and is fully involved in the
assessment process. The service also has access to other professionals on a
case by case basis, including pediatric occupational therapist, medical
specialists, psychologists and physiotherapists.
